The ToNite project, of which the City of Turin was the lead partner, worked from 2019 to 2023 on improving the perception of safety in areas near the Dora River, through multidisciplinary solutions based on activating local communities and enhancing the potential of the area, integrating tangible and intangible interventions, with a view to urban regeneration and social innovation.
The 2Nite project will enable the transfer and dissemination of the innovative practices and inclusive approach to urban safety tested in ToNite to other European cities, with a view to replicability in other urban contexts. At the same time, it will allow Turin to compare itself with other approaches and learn from the experiences of other cities.
Riga (LV), Cluj-Napoca (RO), Associação de Municípios de Fins Específicos Quadrilátero Urbano (PT), Sant Boi de Llobregat (Spain – ES).
The project will allow the City of Torino to develop a replicability and scalability Plan of ToNite in the city context (Continuity Plan), thanks to the comparison and exchange of experiences and good practices with other European cities and different urban contexts.
In particular, a number of tangible and intangible actions envisaged under other Programs, such as the PN Plus, and aimed at the redevelopment and enhancement of public space and the activation of Community Spaces capable of intercepting the social, cultural and educational needs of residents and offering proximity services, while representing places of aggregation capable of encouraging the building of relationships, may be integrated into the Plan.
Project funded by the URBACT IV Innovation Transfer Networks program.
