On 25 – 26 – 27 October, the City of Torino welcomed and hosted the Meeting with the Conexus project partners, who arrived from all over Europe and South America – Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia: three days of work and exchanges for the ‘Co-Learning Forum’ that saw the participants share their knowledge and individual interventions to restore, create and care for urban landscapes and ecosystems for sustainable urbanisation in cities.
The project aims to promote a European culture of environmental sustainability and urban resilience through natural approaches to counter the effects of climate change.
During these days after some technical round tables, moments of debate and discussion, the participants were taken on a tour of concrete examples of Nature Based Solutions at the Orti Generali and the project ‘Valdocco livable, for a climate-proof future’ in the Valdocco Neighbourhood showing them the interventions implemented with a multidisciplinary approach and aimed at transforming part of the neighbourhood through nature-based solutions, which contains in itself a demonstrative value indicating how to intervene to adapt the urban fabric by reducing impermeable pavements and enhancing the ecosystem services of natural soil and green infrastructure.
