Through a process of co-production, IcARUS will integrate social and technological innovations to strengthen the strategic approach to urban security and therefore, promote a balanced vision of urban security, combining prevention, sanctions and social cohesion as mechanisms to encourage common approaches to security in the European Union. This project aims also to enable local communities to ensure the efficiency of urban security policies by having integrated strategic approaches to take into account the changes in both the phenomena as well as the policy and methodological frameworks. The project will seek to achieve the following specific objectives and thus rethink urban security policies in an innovative way:

The PLTO will work on implementing the developed toolkit as part of demonstration projects in the 6 partner municipalities, involving Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) which include local security practitioners and police officers.
