Open Call SEFIT

The Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini together with partners Rethink Ireland, City of Torino and City of Cork launched the Open Call within the SEFIT – Social Ecosystem for Fair and Inclusive Transition project that brings together local authorities, social innovators and citizenship to promote transformative ecological and digital change that is fair within the cities of Turin and Cork.

The Open Call aims to select social innovation projects taking place in Turin and Cork that address the specific challenges posed by the Twin Transition in each local context.

This initiative aims to significantly accelerate the achievement of the European Green Deal goal of becoming a ‘net zero’ continent by 2050, and it is within this framework that, through the SEFIT project, economic support will be offered to innovative projects that address the following challenges:

Financial and Consumer Education conceived as a response to the growing poverty caused by rising energy costs, promoting interventions that raise citizens’ awareness of the issue and stimulate changes in energy consumption habits.
Green Jobs aimed at increasing resilience to climate change by training and employing disadvantaged individuals in the green economy sector.
Sustainable Mobility aimed at encouraging changes in the behaviour and transport habits of citizens in the direction of environmental sustainability.
Torino Youth Forum whose creation is aimed at encouraging the active involvement of young people (including vulnerable targets) in a direct dialogue with the city administration on the topic of climate change, in the context of the Climate City Contract.

The objective of the Call is, in short, to promote a fair and inclusive green and/or digital transition by supporting social innovation solutions that address and mitigate the current and future impacts of climate change in the city of Turin by encouraging the active participation of people experiencing socio-economic disadvantage.

The grants, between €27,000 and €38,000, are intended for SMEs and legally constituted Third Sector Organisations and, selected beneficiaries, will be able to benefit from the following services:

  • Capacity building course with mentors and experts who can guide organisations in strategic planning, impact maximisation, communication, storytelling and fundraising
  • Networking

CALL deadline: 16 April 2024, 14:00 CET
